What’s Best Next: How the Gospel Transforms the Way You Get Things Done (Zondervan, 2014)

I have been following Matt Perman’s blog for a few years now. When he published this book, there was no question about purchasing a copy. True to what I had come to expect from Perman, the book is a veritable gold mine of gospel-centered thinking about productivity.

What is particularly helpful is that Perman starts from the core of the human person and works his way out from there. What I mean by this is he doesn’t just help you create a better to-do list; rather, he identifies the need to be absolutely clear about one’s life mission and core values. And then to work from that place.

Starting in the right place is what produces the most productive outcomes. If you are looking for a quick fix on your busy and harried life, this may not be the book for you. But if you want to be challenged at the centre of your being and have a book that is going to force you to reconsider your worldview and raison d’être then I highly recommend Perman’s book to you.

This book will change your life: it’s that powerful.

Why Build a Lifestyle Business?

Verlynda and I have been working hard over the last few weeks at starting our lifestyle business. I’d like to share a little of how we came to that decision with you.

As I see it, there are two primary considerations when starting a business. If you do not get very clear on both of these, you are unlikely to succeed. The first is what type of business you want to start. The second is who your target market is.
