Do I need therapy?

Am I Crazy?

This is a great question! Often underneath this is an unspoken fear: "Am I crazy?" What I usually see in my clients are people who are not crazy but find themselves in crazy situations. Even at that, many clients may not even be in crazy situations but are just looking for an objective perspective or some clarity on their circumstances or relationships.

Signs That Indicate You Might Find Counselling Helpful

  • I'm feeling stuck in my life
  • I feel confused, lost, depressed, angry or out of control
  • I've tried to work through my problems but the same patterns keep reoccuring
  • I find I'm stuck in unhealthy or unhelpful patterns of behaviour
  • I would like a fresh and impartial perspective on my life or problem
  • As a married couple, we are just not getting along
  • Myself or my spouse is having an affair or addicted to pornography
  • I'm having difficulties in my relationship with my spouse, children, parents, friends, coworkers or others
  • I've talked to others about this and they're getting tired of listening to me
  • I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to about my problem(s)
  • I would like my life to be more purposeful or enriching
  • We would like to prepare ourselves for marriage

Often by the time people come for counselling the problem has become severe and they wish they had come sooner. Any therapist who is ethical in his or her approach will help you to determine if therapy is appropriate for your situation via a brief personal consultation.
