Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is counselling confidential?

  • Yes. What you share with me as a counsellor will be held in complete confidence, with the following three exceptions which are required by law. First, if there is any threat of harm to yourself or others I will have to take appropriate steps to notify the authorities. Second, if a child is being abused I must notify the authorities, and thirdly, if my written notes are subpoenaed by a court of law (usually only in criminal prosecution cases) then I must submit them to the courts. Other than these exceptions, everything you say is kept confidential and even the fact that you are coming for counselling is kept confidential.

2. What are your rates?

  • My rates vary based on the type of session. For individuals the total price including tax is $100/session. For couples or families, the cost is $120/session including tax. If you are in serious need of counseling and experiencing financial hardship please contact me so that we can discuss the situation further. Counseling sessions typically run 50 minutes in length and are available one evening a week.

3. What payment methods do you accept?

  • I accept cash, cheque or major credit card via PayPal. Payment is made prior to the start of each session. For PayPal, please use this button:
